Aberdeen Institute Held the Lecture of Information Management, Information Systems and Digital Transformation

On the afternoon of May 5, Aberdeen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (hereinafter referred to as "Aberdeen Institute") invited Dr. Miguel Baptista Nunes, a Professor and the Dean of the School of Internet of Things at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang), to give a lecture, titled "Information Management, Information Systems and Digital Transformation", in Classroom B111 of the Teaching Building at Foshan campus. More than 50 students attended the lecture.

This lecture first presented and described the concepts of Information Management and Information Systems and then discussed their role in the context of today’s Digital transformation. Furthermore, it discussed how understanding of information systems can lead to better technological solutions that are more adapted to serve societal, business and industrial needs. The lecture discussed the difference between theoretical understanding of technology and applied knowledge that is necessary to enable the acceptance, adopting and active use of this technology in reality. Finally, the lecture gave examples career and academic progression in this area.
