Aberdeen Institute Held the First Teachers’ Meeting
Aberdeen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (hereinafter referred to as "Aberdeen Institute") held the first Teachers’ meeting on December 16. Teaching faculties of SCNU courses and teaching buddies of UoA courses in the 2021-2022 academic year were invitied to attend the meeting. Jianli Wu, the Executive Dean; Changhai Zhang, secretary of the general Party branch; Yingshan Shen, the vice dean(academic); Huan Chen, the vice dean(admin) also attended the meeting, which was presided over by Yingshan Shen.
Jianli Wu indicated that there were three main characteristics, namely cooperation, openness and integration, which brought the opportunties and challenges to teachers. It required teachers to have a strong sense of cooperation and an open attitude in the teaching mode, teaching organization, classroom teaching, scientific research and other aspects.
Changhai Zhang stressed that Aberdeen Institute fully implemented the Party's educational policy, adhered to the socialist direction of running schools, and gave full play to the role of Party. Teachers should play the role in the process of textbook selection and classroom teaching.
Yingshan Shen clarified the roles and responsibilities of teachers, and again emphasized the importance and necessity of textbook selection. Huan Chen made a brief introduction on remuneration this semester.
Teachers shared the EMI courses teaching experience and gave suggestions in such areas as teaching methods, textbook selection, final exam, scientific research projects, teaching facilities, student assistants, etc.
The meeting provided a platform for teachers to share their experience and suggestions, which would improve the teaching quality of EMI courses and further promote the programme development.
